Early Present: Breakcore track, more Yeelp's Uprising and NGASS closure!

Posted by Yeelp - December 20th, 2015

Before I even begin, consider this: grey is the colour perceived as a hue of silver whereas gray is that range of in-bewteen shades between white and black. One can argue that they are different colours. THE MORE YOU KNOW!!! (I'm not sure why I started with that...)

And again, like last week, I'd like to share what I believe to be my best and most recent work: Secrets. This breakcore song is typical breakcore in structure and in style, ie. massive use of the Amen break. If you don't know what the Amen break is, check out this forum post I made that discusses it. It's also the forum post where I ask about whether or not using it will count as plagiarism if I use it in a track. Turns out it's all good! In this track, I tried out side chaining for the first time and I must say it's pretty cool (Seen at 0:52)! I will be uploading this track to my Soundcloud and my Tumblr in 4+ hours as it's 2:20 here rn and I need my sleep! I'll get it on my YouTube too! Consider this your early Christmas present from me as I really think this track has what it takes to be an early Christmas gift!

Another track I want to mention is Louis' Isolation. It was the next track I wanted to try side chaining with but it didn't work out. This track is from Yeelp's Uprising and was created a while ago while I was AWOL from NG. I wanted to edit it and see if side chaining would work before uploading it. I still like the mix - it turned out pretty well. It jumps from 140 to 160 BPM. I think that aspect of the song worked quite well - so much so to warrant it's mention here - but it's not good enough to take the spotlight here.

Let me know what you guys think about both of these tracks! I really could use the feedback! Thanks!

I may include this audio spotlight section with each of my posts where I talk about a few of my tracks that I'm proud of. Of course, this section will be a WIP as I'll make changes to the structure and layout of it all as it develops with further posts.

Moving on, I've been experimenting with some somewhat obscure genres (like breakcore) recently. When I say obscure, I mean that I haven't seen them around anywhere a whole lot - if at all. I might try happycore next - what do you guys think? Is it worth it?

I don't have much else to talk about - either that or I'm too tired to remember (it IS 2:37 rn as I'm typing this very sentence.) One thing I can mention is that my NGASS (The Newgrounds Audio Secret Santa) track is comeplete! I'm kinda shaky when it comes to my opinion on the track - it's a genre I haven't done before (or anything like it) So here's hoping it's good! I won't upload it to NG as it's a gift track - not an actual track. However, I may provide the Instaud.io link to those interested!

Man... I need more things to talk about... School's still being very demanding of me even during the break... *sigh*. Oh well, it is what it is.

Anyway, I want my sleep so I'm going to wrap this up by saying that my feet are surprisingly cold XD... actually no... that's a bad way to end things... I'm going to say that I will try to make a post on Christmas if possible and around New Year's if possible. Speaking of which, I still need New Year's resolutions!

So thanks for reading all the way through small group of fans! I think I mentioned everything I wanted to... If If forgot, then I forgot. It's now 2:47 so forgive me if I missed something (Or even mispelled something XD) Hope you guys are as stoked as I am for Christmas if that's what you celebrate! Stay bold, stay focused and stay awesome!
