The name of your song really confuses me: %u25BD%u25BDChill%u25BD%u25BD I'm not sure If that was a mistake or not but I don't really get how it reflects your song.

The song sounds pretty neat and flows nicely. You did a good job on it from that standpoint. The Sytrus synth is kinda nice. The song is nice and flows well there's just some part of it I can't get behind. It sounds nice but that's about it - It doesn't do anything else. It doesn't connect with me. Your production is great, now try to connect with your audience through your song. I personally think that doing that is especially important with chillout songs because yeah, this song relaxes me a bit but it doesn't do much other than that. There's no real direction that it's trying to take me.

It's great, just work at it a little more!

Cheers.

Wow, this is great. I'm baffled by the orchestra. You've efficiently captured the feel of the original piece and amplified it by 10. I've been AWOL for so long I've missed out on a lot of your pieces, but I always had 2 with me. Coming back now, I'm amazed. You had me at 4.5/5 all the way until that jingle at 3:39. That jingle sold that last half a star. Awesome job!!

I listened to it twice. The first time I took it as is. Then I broke it down and analysed it the second time through.

The first time through I didn't see an old school vibe. To me, it was more of a drug induced space trip, which was kinda awesome. That sound at around 0:16, is that Sonic? It kinda sounds like it; also pretty cool. That synth at 0:17 comes of a *little* too loud for me though. I can see how some of the sound effects you added create that old school vibe. It did seem a little wacky at first but it grew on me. The whole song reminded me of a flash game which I haven't played in forever: Green Moon Lab. So the song also had a little nostalgia for me.

The second time listening gave me a little insight. Your drums seems to be pretty on point. Everything adds up nicely. But that LFO thing you have going on - it doesn't change drastically enough to keep me hooked and engrossed. Like at 2:14 I feel like a change to the LFO would've gone nicely. You made some interesting choices when composing this piece. The segment at 1:59-2:13 deserves a special mention here. It sounds like you did a pitch shift there which almost sounded like it was out of place. Yet it still worked out in the end.

So all throughout this review I asked myself you question: "Download, or no download?" You quite literally have me on the fence here. On one hand, it's sorta nostalgic, it's sci-fi trippy; but equally cool. Yet on the other hand, that repetitive LFO thing seems to be the driving force against me downloading it. If the LFO changed a bit and wasn't the same melody throughout, I'd have downloaded it for sure. I think I will download it but I'm not sure if I'd put on my phone and jam to it. However, I like the sci-fi theme so I'mma definitely follow to see if you have more coming!

Keep on keepin' on
Cheers.

At first, I was a little confused on where the whole song was going... But now I understand.

You say this is improv? That's really cool. I had no idea people were THIS good with imporv. It's a shame that jazz songs don't get much attention these days (as you mentioned in the reply below) because stuff like this is great! it's really groovy with rounded sounds - nothing too sharp or ear splitting, but nothing too soft either. Jazz may not be able to convey a wide variety of feelings - but the feelings it can convey - laid back, relaxed, carefree - it conveys well if you follow. Your song does a great job of conveying what I think to be the key feelings jazz songs convey. Awesome job! Although jazz isn't something I'd listen to on a regular basis like on my iPod - it is a great genre and I do enjoy listening to it! Listening to this reminded me how great the genre is. I love this song! Favorited this song too!

frootza responds:

Thanks Yeelp! Yeah this track was all improvised :) thank you for the appreciation!

Jazz and Blues do seem to be dying out, it is quite a shame. I used to be a strictly EDM composer even though I've always played guitar in real life, but I decided to get back into composing live stuff with my band. I'm glad it reminded you a bit of how cool jazz can be!

Don't forget, no matter the genre, a good composer can evoke any mood through the music they are writing! Jazz can be happy, sad, excited, dreary, relaxing, shocking. As can all the other genres, it just depends on how it's being played :)

(This song, as the title suggests, was meant to reflect the feeling of taking a short ride on a ferry :D)

Again, thanks for the review Yeelp, I appreciate the positive response!

It's a very unique piece for sure. The drums at 0:46 seem out of place - they don't seem to fit with the groove you made. The rest of the drums and percussion work out amazingly with the song. I think the added synth around 1:49 again, seems just a tad out of place.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing on your song. It's amazing in all other areas except those areas. They just need more work is all. The rest of the song is really groovy and flowing. I really like the synth at the beginning - it was really nice! All in all, it's a great song, I can see the reasons why you like it so much, it just needs a tad more work.

Thanks for your honest review. Perhaps I could replace that beeping synth with a sample I could create, now that I have a VST, along with a great audio editor. :)

I'm working on doing better with the one-shot percussions in making beats. I'm doing so in this remix of my first dubstep. I think the whole mid-section of it will be a custom beat. So much to do, and I just know it will be a long while until I get that beat right. It's fun to get into, but at the same time it's such a challenge!

Wow. I really like the feel you have going on! Everything really flows nicely except for two areas. The first is at 1:01. It's not that terrible and out of place, it just disrupts the tempo. I was sort of in a trance up until 1:01 and then that section sorta disturbed it. I think if you worked on transitioning a little more, it'd be much better there. The second - and it's worse (I use the term "worse" lightly) then the section at 1:01 - is the section at 1:25. I adjusted to the new tempo and feel created at 1:01 but then then buildup that occurred at 1:25 seemed sort of forced to me - a little out of place. But those two faults don't detract to much from the feel of the song. It still feels smooth and flowing. Now you should focus on making the transitions feel seamless and then future creations by you will be amazing. Keep up the good work!

It seemed very repetitive with the same kind of melody and the same rhythmic feel although it still kept me entertained for the entire 7:12. Not a genre I would listen to on a regular basis, but this song definitely shows how much effort went into this. It just seems kinda plain y'know? Not that plainness is terrible in any song it's just that for 7:12, it kinda got... undesirable in a way. It's a nice song and with more variety it would be a fantastic song. You're definitely on your way to becoming a great artist, keep on keepin' on!

It's interesting. I enjoyed it but it was a little too long for me. But that's okay. It flows smoothly and remains true to itself. I don't have much to say, it's nice and there's just small improvements here and there that could be made to improve to overall appeal of the piece. just keep going at it and your songs will become great! Awesome job!

The melody is nice. I like the whole feel the song has. Although the melody wasn't changing, it was nice. I really like the song and I can see how far you've come in comparison to Future. I don't think there's as many flaws as you think! :) Keep chuggin' away at it and you'll be a great dubstep artist.

Pandasticality responds:

thank you for your kind words! this is a old song, a little over a year ago if im not mistaken, its not my best work but i decided to upload it here cuz i liked how the melody turned out even though its repeative :x thank you for your review, really helps!

When I went to review this, I got interrupted twice and had to wait before being able to review it again. However, I had listened all the way up to the drop and I must say, I was laughing but not in the "making fun" way but in the baffled way. I was anxiously waiting to hear the rest of the song and you did not disappoint. I was just so dazzled about how masterfully the piece was put together. The short stabs at the beginning seemed cut-off, but that didn't detract from the song in my opinion. Honestly, the song just completely blew me away. The melody, although it didn't change much, still remained so interesting and entertaining that I HAD to listen to the song again and again. I'm downloading this song and adding it to my music library. Amazing work, I'm speechless. Bravo! :)

Pandasticality responds:
