Stagnant: Little progress, lotta delays, planning ahead and new ideas!

Posted by Yeelp - December 13th, 2015

Before I begin, I'd like to share my newest work: The World is Vast. This Bubblegum bass styled chillout loop was originally gonna be a song but I couldn't really flesh it out more than this so I just looped what I had and went with it. I think it's pretty good - I'm just a little letdown that I couldn't flesh it out. Oh well. I'm going to upload it to Soundcloud and post it to my Tumblr as well so be sure to check it out over on those pages too if you enjoy it!

Sadly, there isn't much for me to say this week music-wise. School's been pinning me down - preventing me from working on anything else, and when I'm not working on school, I'm working on post secondary application stuff. Furthermore, the NGASS has taken up any extra free time I've had as I need to have my song done by th 20th. The song is technically done, but I'm not too proud of it. I'm trying to pull out something better from the mix I have but I'm not sure how much 'better' I can make it. I clearly need more work in this specific genre.

However, I managed to go through all of my Yeelp's Uprising tracks that haven't been reuploaded to NG yet (and even some of them that already have been reuploaded) and tweak them, add final touches and polish the mix. I haven't exported them out of FL Studio yet but I will when I get the oppurtunity and then I'll upload them to NG right away! I might even get some done tonight! That's the 'little progress' I've made.

On a COMPLETELY unrelated note, I'm I the only one who renamed my FL Studio shortcut on my desktop from 'Fruity Loops Studio.exe' to 'Fruit Loops.exe'? It just makes sense to me.

With Christmas and the winter holidays a few weeks away, (I can't even believe it's here already, anyone else feel the same way?) I might get too busy to make a post during the winter holidays and might have to do it afterwards. So, I might make a multiple posts before the holidays, as opposed to one a week to compensate, if I can, I'll make a post on Chritmas Day too and I can tell you guys about some of the things I got and other cool stuff like that. Speaking of which, I STILL need to do some Christmas shopping... I only need to get 2-3 gifts and I can't even do that! Yikes... Let's not dwell on that. And with Christmas nearing, so does the new year! Anyone already have thier new year resolutions worked out? I could use a few ideas! :P

While making this post, I was thinking of how I could be more interactive with my "fan base", (do we count 3-4 people as a fan base?) I was thinking of a variety of things but these ideas are things that are better off with a larger fan base. Getting myself out there to interact with a large portion of the NG community isn't the easiest. Anyone got any ideas? Clearly reviewing content/being active on the forum etc. gets me known and I'm trying to work towards doing that, but I was just wondering if there were other things I could try as well.

I'm not gonna talk about a genre of music this week. I've already gone on long enough. If you want me to talk about a specific genre of music and my opinions on it in my next post, suggest it in a comment or something/PM if you really want.

Anyways, I hope you guys had a stelar week and I hope that this week brings more productivity for me (and for you guys if you need that kind of productivity). And as always, Stay bold, stay focused and stay awesome!
